RECOGNIZE YOUR THOUGHTS, FEELINGS & ENERGY

You are excited and on fire about your vision. You are focused. You rally the troops. Because you are clear and committed, people trust you.

REALIZE WHAT IS DRIVING YOUR MINDSET

  1. You have a visceral feeling about the vision. It registers in the core of your body as a deep sense of confidence. The vision has a three-dimensional quality to it that makes it very real.
  2. You are focused on the course and direction.
  3. You see the interrelatedness of things.
  4. You feel the outreaching possibilities of the vision and how this vision interconnects with other people, systems and organizations.
  5. You are at the 50,000-foot level and see the big picture, 360 degrees around.
  6. You exude an appreciation for what is around you.
  7. You recognize the value in each person, each component, and your attitude is one of inclusion.
  8. You create an environment everyone wants to inhabit.
  9. You know how to engage and invite all the different elements and personalities into the whole so that they can interact in a productive way.
  10. You don't live in denial, you acknowledge the obstacles that arise and consistently keep everyone focused on where you are going.

RESOLVE BALANCE YOUR STRENGTHS

  1. Allow your vision to mature.
  2. Once you get the picture, focus on the details of closing the gap and getting there.
  3. Take time to explain so that everyone knows the path forward and how progress will be measured.
  4. Support people in their day-to-day tasks.
  5. Stay awake and mindful of what is going on around you with people and processes. Respond and focus as things change.
  6. Speak your vision freely; engage concerns and questions from those around you. It is normal for people to doubt. Help them see their way forward. Stay the course
  7. Ask people what's in it for them and link their drivers to the vision.
  8. Validate, acknowledge and celebrate the small steps forward.
